Road From Kampuchea --
Film Description:
"Road From Kampuchea is the extraordinary tale of one Cambodian soldier who went from reaching for an ax to amputate what was left of his landmine-blasted legs to receiving the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to ban landmines worldwide. In this film, the story of how Cambodia came to be riddled with 10 million as yet undetonated landmines unfolds alongside landmine survivor Reth's own journey into wholeness again. Touching moments ensue as he delves into his new vocations of wheelchair building and, ultimately, political activism. Reth's determination to heal himself morally and spiritually is seen to mirror his people's efforts to sublimate their pain through singular forms of art and cultural expression."
