Film Description: "Set in rural Ontario, Perfect Pie traces the lifelong connection of two women, Francesca and Patsy, who, as children, confronted a terrible event. Although Patsy ultimately chose to stay on her family's farm, Francesca decided to escape, driven away by small-town torment. Now an internationally acclaimed opera singer, Francesca returns to her home town to sing at a benefit, at the request of Patsy, whom she has not heard from for many years. Their story, told in the present day, interweaves scenes of Patsy and Francesca at ages 10 and 15. When the past meets the present, a catharsis is achieved, which forces the women to re-examine their lives and their deep bond of friendship." -- Telefilm Canada (source) |
