Film Description: "The Green Revolution, the dramatic increase in grain production during the mid-1960s, was an important agricultural advance in many Third World countries. But it has had wide repercussions on all types of farming. Large-scale mechanized farms began to take over smaller farms, forcing small and tenant farmers who lost their land to migrate to the cities, where they now swell the ranks of the urban unemployed. This is a look at 'agri-business,' a term to describe the multi-national corporations that are attempting to create a world agricultural system in which everything they produce is for consumers in the already wealthy countries." -- National Film Board of Canada
